Úna works as a live sound engineer, taking care of front-of-house sound for Irish traditional and acoustic artists at home and on tour. Most of her work is currently in traditional music, but in keeping with her research and academic interests she also engineers concerts of experimental and multichannel music, for example at NIME and ICMC.
Úna is the resident engineer at An Droicheadin Belfast, but also works at Cultúrlann MacAdam Ó Fiaich and at festivals such as Open House, Cathedral Quarter Arts and Celtic Connections. As an engineer she has travelled worldwide, including Sori Festival (Korea), Tonder Festival (Denmark), Irish Festival of Oulu (Finland), and Saarang Festival (India).
